Job description

  • autonomously manage High Performance Computing (HPC) calculation clusters for scientific calculations;
  • assist researchers with using software tools and specialised applications on the calculation clusters, Windows and Linux systems;
  • manage general operational systems in a Microsoft Windows environment;
  • advise on calculation clusters, parallel programming environments, compilers and optimisation of codes;
  • follow up agreements on the use of computing power and software tools;
  • provide documentation and trainings for target audience;
  • maintain contacts with other HPC data centres.

Required qualifications

As HPC and Linux engineer, you have the following qualifications:

  • master’s degree in Industrial Science, Master’s degree in Computer Science or Master’s degree in Engineering in computer science;
  • good knowledge of Linux environments;
  • knowledge of Microsoft and Windows products;
  • knowledge of networks and security;
  • experience with programming languages and scripts such as C#, C++, Fortran, Python, Shell script;
  • interest in High Performance Computing systems and architecture;
  • interest in data storage technologies, high-speed network interfaces and advanced IT applications;
  • being able to work on your own, showing team spirit, being flexible and creative;
  • being service-minded and customer-focused, maintain contact with an audience made of researchers;
  • good oral and written communication skills;
  • good command of English.
